The costs required to file bankruptcy fall into three categories - the filing fee charged by the court, credit briefing fee as required by the October 2005 changes to the bankruptcy code and the fee charged by your attorney.
The filing fee for Chapter 7 is $299.00 and for a Chapter 13 is $274.00.
The required credit briefings cost approximately $50.00, plus approximately $19.00 for the post-petition financial management class.
